Blessing Of Candles

Candles will be blessed on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the 6:30 a.m. Mass.
Jesus’ entry into the Temple is as the Light entering into His Holy Place. For this reason, on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple the Church blesses candles, which symbolizes Jesus as the Light of the World.
