ST. MARY MAGDALEN BAPTISM PROCEDURES

Parents preparing for the Baptism of a child must attend one of our Baptism seminars and complete the necessary paperwork before the Baptism can be scheduled. Parents are encouraged to attend the seminar while they are expecting the child, but you may attend after the child is born as well. Godparents are also welcome to attend our Baptism seminars but are not required to attend.

BAPTISM SEMINAR SCHEDULE

Baptism seminars will be held on the second Monday of each month. All seminars are at 6:30 p.m. in the Ministries Building.

REGISTER FOR THE SEMINAR

Call the parish office and give names of parents, phone number, and date you will be attending.

BRING TO THE SEMINAR

~ If the baby has been born, bring the birth certificate or, if not available, the footprints certificate, which lists the baby’s name, parents’ names, and date of birth.

~ If the baby has not been born, parents may drop off the certificate after the child’s birth.

SPONSORS’ (GODPARENTS) PAPERWORK

At the seminar, parents will receive paperwork and instructions for the sponsors to fill out and have signed by the pastor of the church to which they belong. Sponsors must meet the criteria specified on the sponsor form. Forms may also be picked up in the parish office prior to attendance at the seminar.

SCHEDULING THE BAPTISM

The Baptism may be scheduled after attending the seminar and all proper paperwork is completed and turned in to the parish office.
