St. Mary Magdalen Lenten Mission
Ever wonder why bad things happen to good people?
The St. Mary Magdalen Lenten Mission will be presented by special guest Fr. Jim Brady, Associate Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel in Crowley. Fr. Brady practiced law in Lafayette and later entered the seminary. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2006 and later received a Licentiate in Canon Law in 2009. The Lenten Mission is entitled, “The Nature of Suffering” and will be presented within the context of Mass each evening. The mission will explore the nature of suffering, including the origin of suffering, how suffering is redeemed by Jesus Christ, and how we process suffering in our lives by configuring our suffering to Jesus. Parents preparing for the Baptism of a child must attend a baptism seminar and complete all necessary paperwork before a baptism can be scheduled. Please see the parish events calendar for a schedule of seminars. Please contact the parish office to register for a seminar. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on Sundays after the 11:00 a.m. Mass.

Weddings at St. Mary Magdalen
Diocesan policy requires couples to contact a parish priest or deacon at least six (6) months prior to their desired date. The Engaged Encounter weekend and three sessions of Natural Family Planning are required. Please contact the rectory for a copy of the wedding policy. Couples should bring baptismal certificates to their first interview. Copies must be recent, issued within the last six (6) months (not an old copy or the original copy).

Safe Environment Training
The VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children Online Awareness Training may be used to complete required yearly Continuing Education for Safe Environment.
This is for volunteers who are in need of Continuing Education. Initial Trainings must still be attended in a live session. Live sessions are held at St. Mary Magdalen Parish during the month of February every calendar year.
