New Director of Christian Service Center
Bishop Jarrell has assigned Deacon Randy E. Hyde to St. Mary Magdalen Parish as a full time deacon effective June 1, 2010. His primary responsibility will be serving as the Director of the St. Mary Magdalen Christian Service Center. In addition, he will function as a deacon in the parish with ministerial responsibilities including baptism, weddings, funerals and pastoral care.
Deacon Hyde was born in Lafayette, Louisiana; on October 30, 1956. He was baptized into the Southern Baptist faith at the age of 10. After meeting and marrying a Catholic girl named Cathy in 1977 everything changed. That is where the road to Catholicism began for him. He entered an RCIA program and became Catholic. Parents preparing for the Baptism of a child must attend a baptism seminar and complete all necessary paperwork before a baptism can be scheduled. Please see the parish events calendar for a schedule of seminars. Please contact the parish office to register for a seminar. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on Sundays after the 11:00 a.m. Mass.

Marriage
Couples wishing to be married at St. Mary Magdalen Church are encouraged to contact Mrs. Peggy Ashley in the parish office at 337-893-0244 to discuss scheduling and procedures. All engaged couples must begin the marriage preparation process a minimum of six months prior to the intended wedding date to allow sufficient time for marriage preparation as directed by Diocesan policy. We allow weddings to be scheduled up to twelve months in advance of your intended wedding date.

Safe Environment Training
The VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children Online Awareness Training may be used to complete required yearly Continuing Education for Safe Environment.
This is for volunteers who are in need of Continuing Education. Initial Trainings must still be attended in a live session. Live sessions are held at St. Mary Magdalen Parish during the month of February every calendar year.
