At his Angelus address on Sunday, September 1, Pope Francis reflected on the worsening world crisis in Syria and the suffering of thousands of innocent victims. He called on Catholics throughout the world to join in a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Syria, the Middle East and across the entire world on Saturday, September 7, the Vigil of the Birth of Our Lady, Queen of Peace.

Parents preparing for the Baptism of a child must attend a baptism seminar and complete all necessary paperwork before a baptism can be scheduled. Please see the parish events calendar for a schedule of seminars. Please contact the parish office to register for a seminar. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on Sundays after the 11:00 a.m. Mass.
Couples wishing to be married at St. Mary Magdalen Church are encouraged to contact Ms. Renella Livers in the parish office at 337-893-0244 to discuss scheduling and procedures. All engaged couples must begin the marriage preparation process a minimum of six months prior to the intended wedding date to allow sufficient time for marriage preparation as directed by Diocesan policy. We allow weddings to be scheduled up to twelve months in advance of your intended wedding date.

This 1 page handout lists all pre-approved vocal selections for funeral liturgies at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. It is possible to have vocal selections that are not on this list. These selections should be submitted to the music director, Tommy Guidry, for approval. All music played at funeral liturgies must be sacred music. Find the handout here.

Safe Environment Training
The VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children Online Awareness Training may be used to complete required yearly Continuing Education for Safe Environment.
This is for volunteers who are in need of Continuing Education. Initial Trainings must still be attended in a live session. Live sessions are held at St. Mary Magdalen Parish during the month of February every calendar year.
